MISA MALAWI STATEMENT ON WORLD PRESS FREEDOM DAY, 2012

Today, the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter has joined the international community in commemorating World Press Freedom Day (WPFD). The Chapter has been celebrating WPFD in all the three regions of the country since 2010 in collaboration with various partners to offer an opportunity to both the media and members of the public to grace these activities.

MISA MALAWI WORLD PRESS FREEDOM DAY (WPFD) CELEBRATIONS The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter will this year celebrate World Press Freedom Day (WPFD) in all the three regions of the country with the main function in Lilongwe on Saturday, May 5. Today, March 9, 2012, we received a statement released by State House Press Officer, Albert Mungomo, and titled: ‘Civil Society Organisations and Media Conduct Inciting Anarchy in the Country.’ |
